Appointing New Board Members

Whilst the latest recruitment exercise is now complete, we are always looking for voluntary Board Members with appropriate skills and experience.  If you have a knowledge or experience of Human Resources, Property Maintenance or Housing Management we would particularly like to hear from you.

Making a Difference

Family Housing Association is a small, community based, not-for-profit Registered Provider of 393 homes across Wirral, mainly in Birkenhead and Wallasey, with a smaller number in Port Sunlight.

Our Mission Statement is to provide high quality homes and excellent services, at genuinely affordable rents to those in housing need in Wirral. Our aims and objectives include maintaining our homes to the best possible standard, carefully managing the risk to protect the Association’s assets and not least of all, to provide excellent services to our tenants.

Being a Board Member

We are looking for people who can think differently, challenge existing practices, bring lived experiences, have plenty of drive and passion, and work constructively and collectively as team players. Experience in finance, maintenance and repairs are particularly welcome.

We seek to reflect the Wirral community we serve and so within our Board composition, we recognise the business benefits of diversity.  We welcome approaches from all sections of the community and encourage applications from under-represented groups.

Our Board members are volunteers, who are asked to prepare for and attend 6 meetings each year, an annual Board Away Day, together with relevant training, and an appraisal. Expenses are payable, such as for travel.

Application form and further information is available below.  For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Neil or Mark on 0151 647 5000.
